Libraries.

Ernesto J. Castillero National Library is the main depository of the country’s bibliographic memory, with a wide library network including the so-called bibliobus, a type of library on wheels visiting a number of places every week.

The automated catalog in the main library enables to identify the country’s bibliographic heritage. It is intended to rescue the National Memory by means of a compilation of all works about Panama and Panamanians, as well as their intellectual production, regardless of the language used, geographic area where it was edited or published, date, subject matter or format.

The wide network of public libraries is complemented by those in Bocas del Toro, Herrera, Chiriquí, Los Santos, Coclé, Panama City, Colón, Veraguas, Darién and the one available to the people living in Kuna Yala region.
